Lucy Mary Blackwell

Lucy Mary Blackwell, 90, a 60 year resident of Brooklyn Park and formerly of Federal Hill, died on Saturday, September 28, 2024 in the care of Accent Care at Medstar Harbor Hospital.

She was born on Friday, July 27th, 1934 in Cabins, West Virginia to the late Virgil and Myrtle Ours. Mrs. Blackwell retired from Maryland Management in the early 1990's after over 30 years of service.  Family was her everything! She was grandmom to everyone and went above and beyond to take care of others. She loved hard, and was very outspoken with how she felt! She was a busy body that enjoyed crocheting, cooking, sewing, solving word searches, watching television especially Law and Order and the Price is Right with her husband prior to his passing but above all she was the mortar that held her family together!!

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Billy Blackwell; her son Bobby Blackwell; her siblings Justin, Fred "Jim", Dottie, Ruby and Charles.  She is survived by her son Terry Blackwell, 7 grandchildren 16 great grandchildren and one on the way, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday October 5, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.  Interment private.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society by clicking HERE.
