It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lonnie Duane Martin, a beloved resident of Pasadena, Maryland, who peacefully departed this life on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at the age of 79. Lonnie was born on Friday, December 14th, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, and made Pasadena his home for the past 53 years, becoming a cherished member of the community.
Lonnie is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Michelle Martin of Pasadena, MD, who was his steadfast companion through the many years they shared together. He is also survived by his son, Steven Purzner, Sr. his beloved grandchildren, Steven Purzner, Jr., Tiffany Gore, and Miranda "Mandy" Purzner, as well as his cherished great-granddaughter, Jade Purzner.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lonnie and Eula Martin, and his daughter, Tonya Gore, whom he so dearly missed.
Throughout his career, Lonnie demonstrated a tireless work ethic and a diverse skill set as a true jack of all trades. His most recent tenure was with the Maryland State Highway Administration, where he dedicated 17 years until his retirement in 2010. His contribution to the state's infrastructure was a testament to his commitment and diligence.
Lonnie had a zest for life and found immense joy in crabbing, fishing, and boating. His love for classic cars was well-known among friends and family, who often gathered to admire his passion and knowledge of these timeless vehicles.
To celebrate Lonnie's life, family and friends are invited to Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10th, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A funeral service to honor and remember Lonnie will take place on Tuesday, November 11th, 2025, at 11:00 am. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Lonnie's name to organizations he held dear: the Shriner's Children's Hospital HERE, St. Jude Children's Hospital HERE, Wounded Warriors HERE, or the ASPCA HERE. These charities reflect his generous spirit and enduring desire to help those in need.
