Linda Lee Forand, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on a crisp autumn day in 1948, in the quaint town of Amsterdam, New York, Linda spent her life bringing warmth, kindness, and compassion to everyone around her.
A dedicated homemaker, Linda's life was a testament to love, family, and service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Esther LaRose, and her devoted spouse, Richard Thomas Forand. Despite life's challenges, Linda maintained a spirit of resilience and grace, nurturing not only her family but also her community.
Linda is survived by her cherished children: Albert Forand, Christine Janos, Cheryl Potter, and William Forand. She also leaves behind her three loving siblings and a legacy carried forward by her grandchildren: Amanda Forand, Joseph Dresch, Joshua Janos, Tiffany Forand, and Katie Forand, as well as her seven great-grandchildren who will all miss her dearly.
Her compassionate heart extended beyond her family as she served tirelessly at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Severna Park, MD, particularly within its nursery. Additionally, she devoted her time as a volunteer at BWMC, touching countless lives with her generosity and warmth.
Linda's hands were rarely still; she found joy in crocheting, solving puzzles, sewing, and engaging in various crafts. Her adventurous spirit took her RVing and traveling, where she explored new places and shared treasured moments with loved ones.
A funeral service to celebrate Linda's life will be held at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Severna Park, MD, on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025. Friends and family are invited to gather for an evening visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 7:00 pm. It will be a time to honor her memory, share stories, and find solace in the legacy of love she leaves behind. A burial at Crownsville Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Linda's life was a tapestry of devotion, kindness, and creativity. She touched the lives of everyone she met, gifting them with her loving and giving nature. Though she has departed from this world, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
