Leonard L. Willis, 87, a lifelong resident of Glen Burnie, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Hospice of the Chesapeake.
Mr. Willis was born July 23, 1935 in Maryland to the late Emmett and Victoria Willis. He served honorably in the US Army. He went on to work as an Electrical Foreman for JP Company until his retirement. During his employment, Mr. Willis had a hand in constructing the Baltimore Aquarium which was one of his greater accomplishment's during his career. He served has the Governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodges in Glen Burnie as well as a member of the IBEW Local 24. He was a part of the American Legion and Elks Lodge, was on the Board of Directors for Canvasback Condominium Association in Ocean City, and coached the Marley Little League Baseball and Softball teams. In his free time, he enjoyed boating, fishing, spending time at the beach, wood working, listening to country music and his favorite artist, Elvis, and enjoyed helping others as a handyman.
Mr. Willis is survived by his wife, Antoinette E. Willis; son, Daniel L. Willis; daughters Deborah W. Balles ( Phillip), Cynthia L. McGrail (Mark); grandchildren, Ryan McGrail, Christopher Balles, Claire McGrail, Michael Balles and Sarah Balles.
Friends may call Thursday, May 25th from 2-4 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where a service will begin at 4:00 pm. Interment is private.
