Leo B. Smith

Leo B. Smith, 80, a lifelong resident of Pasadena, MD, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 after a courageous battle against Leukemia.

Leo  was born on Tuesday, March 9th, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Leo B. Smith Sr. and Dorothy Simmons Smith. After graduation from Glen Burnie High School in 1961.  Leo went on to serve honorably in the US Army Reserves 949 for six years.  Leo worked for NSA for 35 years retiring in 1997.  Then he worked for Northrop Grumman for  10 years retiring in 2007.

Leo was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and Shelltown Sportmen Hunting Club.

Leo loved his family and friends and that's why he fought so hard to spend more time with us.  Leo loved to hunt, fish, boat, and ride his Harley.  Leo loved life and was always willing to help someone!

Leo is survived by his devoted wife of 12 years, Sherry Colona Smith; daughter, Stacey Smith-Benning (Darrin); children, Charlotte Simpson (Randy), Hope Kalb (Thomas), Joe Brittingham (Jessica) Amanda Frock (Timmy); his brother Ron Smith Sr, (Dale); grandchildren Kristie Reisler (Philip), DJ Benning (Nikki), Victor Simpson, Brooke Simpson, Austin Wassell (Madi), Victoria Wassell, Grayson Wassell, Lee Brittingham, Lincoln Brittingham, Ryann Olivia Frock, Reed Frock and  Ramsey Sue Frock; great grandchild Aengus Wassell; nephews Ron Smith, Jr. (Tammy) and Kevin Smith (Christine); great nephews Mathew Smith, Brenden Smith, and Ben Smith; brother-in-law Billy Colona (Beth) and Frank Colona (Barbie); and sister-in-law Tanna Somers (Bruce)

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Community United Methodist Church 8680 Fort Smallwood Rd. Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm.  Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
