It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Larry Vincent Starlings, Sr., who departed this life on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in the home of Amanda Briggs, his beloved granddaughter. Born on March 3, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland, Larry was a lifelong resident of the area and a cherished member of the community.
Larry dedicated 57 years to the craft of painting houses, a trade that showcased his artistry and attention to detail. In his free time, he found joy in pursuing his passion for boxing, a sport that brought him both excitement and camaraderie.
Above all, Larry’s life revolved around his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He was a devoted father and a proud grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, creating lasting memories with each generation. Known for his loving nature and big heart, Larry touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Golden Starlings; daughter, Julia Spradley, and his brothers, Kenneth and Reginald Starlings. He is survived by his children: Dawn Erickson, Larry Starlings, Jr., Vicki Carter, and Linda League; siblings, Marsha Rodgers and Bo Starlings. He also leaves behind many adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Larry Vincent Starlings, Sr. will be remembered not only for his skills and passions but for the love and warmth he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Friends and family may visit Friday, November 1st from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where a service will be held at 8:00 pm. Interment is private.
