Lane V. Woods, Sr.

Lane V. Woods Sr., a devoted family man, passed away on October 9, 2024, at the age of 84. A 36 year  resident of Millersville, Maryland, Lane was born on September 21, 1940, in Bowie, Maryland. He lived a fulfilling life, surrounded by the family he cherished.

Lane is survived by his beloved spouse, Brenda Woods; two sons, Lane V. Woods Jr. and Wayne Woods; a brother, Clarence Woods; two sisters, Betty Merritt and Linda Cornell and three grandchildren, Cody Woods, Brennon Woods, and Jayden Mazza. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mildred Woods.

Lane served honorably in the US Army.

Lane was a member of the Sons of the Confederacy and pursued thrilling hobbies such as skydiving in his youth. His interest in vegetable gardening, fishing, crabbing, boating, canoeing, and hiking which highlighted his love for nature and the simplicities of life. Known for his love of family and social gatherings, Lane was always the last to leave a party, bringing warmth and laughter wherever he went.

 Those wishing to pay their respects may attend visitations at Stallings Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Funeral services will take place at at that same location on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 10:30 am.  Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.

Lane will be deeply missed but forever remembered by the many lives he touched.
