Kenneth Schaeffer Obituary

Kenneth Schaeffer, 68, a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, died on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center surrounded by his loving wife, daughter and son-in-law.

He was the first child of Nancy Hollingsworth born on Tuesday, July 3rd, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland.  He graduated from Northeast High School in Pasadena, Maryland in 1974. Kenny worked as a machinist for 30 years in the bindery industry.  He also owned Hunting and Fishing Consignment in Glen Burnie off Crain Highway for over 4 years.  Mr. Schaeffer was president and member of the Potomac River Fishing Club, Never on Sunday Fishing Club, Fowl Talk Hunting Club, and Frank Robinson's Farm.  He was a lifelong outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and crabbing. He cared very much for preservation of natural habitats and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with friends and family. He spent a lot of time on the Eastern Shore enjoying his hobbies with countless friends. Kenny was also an avid Orioles and Ravens fan, rarely missing a game. He was an extremely dedicated husband and father who could build and craft almost anything you could imagine. He was an animal lover owning many hunting dogs, cats and supportive of his daughter’s horses for his whole life.

Mr. Schaeffer is preceded in death by his son Kenneth Michael Schaeffer, his father William Lavern Schaeffer, maternal grandmother Dolores Petersen, and paternal grandmother Mary R. Brooks.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara "Bobbie" Yvonne Schaeffer; his daughter Ashley Rose Schaeffer and her husband Patrick Joseph Hackley; his mother Nancy Hollingsworth; his Aunt Nancy Harris; and his sisters Janice Perry, Catherine Beckman, and Rose Hubbard as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Kenny’s bright blue eyes will be surely missed forever, may he rest in eternal peace knowing how much he was loved by all.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024  at Stallings Funeral Home Pasadena, Maryland from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm where funeral services will take place on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
