Karen M. Bennett

On May 23, 2025, Karen M. Bennett, of Milford, DE, and formerly of Glen Burnie, MD, peacefully went home to be with the Lord.

She was born on December 20, 1952, in Baltimore, MD to the late James and Dolores Gugliette.

Karen graduated from Western High School in 1970. She married Harold “Gene” Bennett on June 22, 1974, and had their only child, Carrie, on February 1, 1981.

She worked at Quality Automotive Warehouse as the Office Manager in Accounts Payable for many years, until retiring in 2016.

Karen moved with her family to Milford, DE in 2017.

She enjoyed cookouts and parties, crab feasts, going to the casino and the beach, watching the Ravens and never missed a game, spending time with her family and friends; but most of all, she loved her grandchildren and cherished living with them.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Harold “Gene” Bennett, her parents, her niece, Lisa Cassino, her sister, Debra Giardina, her nephew, Eric Caves, and her beloved dog, Nibbles.

She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Hovatter and her husband Matt, her grandchildren; Cameron, Jacob, and Owen Hovatter, her sisters, Diane Ward and Paula Sandidge and her husband Tom, her brother, Jim Gugliette and his wife Sharon, her nieces, Angelina Giardina and boyfriend Joe, and Julie Giardina and her fiancé Tony, her nephews, Vincent Cassino and his wife Chrissy, Jimmy Gugliette and his wife Leigh, Jason Gugliette, Jon Gugliette, T.J. Sandidge and his wife Michelle, and Joe Giardina.

The family will receive visitors at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, on Friday, May 30th from 10AM to 12PM, with a funeral service at 12 noon.  

Interment is Cedar Hill Cemetery.
