John Steedman, a lifelong resident of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on February 5th, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland, John was a cherished member of the community who lived a life full of love, laughter, and service.
John graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1965. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Air Force, serving honorably during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, John dedicated his career to the Anne Arundel County Public Schools, working as a plumber for 30 years. His expertise and unwavering work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and community members alike.
John's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent countless hours fishing, crabbing, and boating on the Magothy River. A member of the Maryland Anglers Bass Club, Glen Burnie Moose, and VFW, John was always eager to share a story or a laugh with friends, often to the tune of his favorite band, the Rolling Stones.
Family was the cornerstone of John's life. He is survived by his loving brother Scott Steedman and his wife Karen, his nephew Timothy Dorsey, and his nieces Amy Havens and Shelby Sanger. They will fondly remember him sharing his zest for life and warmth. John was preceded in death by his beloved parents, George and Margaret Steedman, and his dear sister, Claudia Dorsey.
Services and interment are private.

John's infectious laughter and kind heart touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, John.
