John Charles Horky III, 86, of Pasadena passed away unexpectedly at home on July 4, 2024. He was born on June 23, 1938 in Pasadena MD, was a lifelong Anne Arundel County resident, and retired as the Chief of Land Surveys for AA County Public Works after a distinguished career of 35 years. He was happily married to his wife Shirley Kay Horky for 53 years until her passing in 2014. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida with his many friends, time with his family, and throughout his life was involved in multiple local social organizations including the Severna Park Elks and the Baltimore Rod & Gun Club.
He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley, his parents John and Thelma Horky, and his sister Beverly Hudler. John is survived by his brother Kenneth and his wife Dotty, his three children Sharon Carr Swanegan and husband David of Pasadena, Deborah Kremer and her husband Keith of the Open Seas, and John K. Horky and wife Amy of Grand Rapids MI, five grandchildren, and five great granddaughters.
Family and friends may visit on July 15, 2024 from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Stallings Funeral Home, P.A. where funeral services will be held on July 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM.
