John Delano Newton, Sr., 81, a 66 year resident of Pasadena, MD and formerly of Virginia, died on August 27, 2021 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Mr. Newton was born on April 19, 1940 in Fredericksburg, VA to the late Alvin and Beatrice Newton. He served for 18 years in the U.S. Army Reserves before eventually beginning a long and successful career as a Plumber and Gas Fitter. He retired from BGE in 2004. In his spare time, John loved working with his hands and collecting tools. He also enjoyed tending his vegetable garden and watching NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Newton is preceded in death by his brothers, Alvin Wilson Newton, Jr., Robert Jackson Newton, Douglas MacArthur Newton, and Larry Willard Newton. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Patsy Newton; son, John Newton, Jr. and his wife, Shelley, of Pasadena; daughter, Debbie Kulikowski and her husband, Mike, of Pasadena; 2 grandchildren, Candice Newton and Shelley Gange; and 3 great-grandchildren, Jakob and Chandler Fabian and Hazel Welzel.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 1 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7231 Ritchie Hwy, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
