Our beloved mother, Joanne Louise (Wolf) Rhodes, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Hospice of the Chesapeake at the age of 86.
Born on March 1, 1940, in Pennsylvania, Joanne was the cherished daughter of Ralph and Arlene Wolf. She was an exceptional student and graduated as the valedictorian of the Sparrows Point High School Class of 1958.
On February 27, 1960, Joanne married the love of her life, Lawrence W. Rhodes Sr. She enjoyed a long and successful career as a legal secretary, where she was respected for her professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail.
Joanne's faith was the foundation of her life. She was a devoted member of Glen Lutheran Church in Glen Burnie, Maryland, and later Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Titusville, Florida. For more than 35 years, she served as a Sunday School teacher, sharing her love of God.
She found great happiness in tending to her plants and gardens. Joanne also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and crafting, creating handmade gifts for family and friends. Together, Joanne and Larry shared many wonderful years golfing, camping, and making memories with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her beloved great-granddaughter, Destiny Rhodes.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Lawrence "Dusty" Rhodes Jr. (Pilar), Jay B. Rhodes Sr. (Wendy), and Denise Rhodes Garrison; her brothers, Larry, Richard, and Dennis Wolf; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Joanne's life at Stallings Funeral Home on Saturday, June 11, 2026, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., followed immediately by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
