Jerome Gordon Brewis, 81, passed on April 22, 2021. He was born February 9, 1940 in Baltimore and, while he lived in Pennsylvania and Florida for a time, he was a longtime resident of Orchard Beach. He was in the first graduating class of St Jane Frances School in Pasadena and went on to graduate from Calvert Hall in 1958. He served honorably in the U. S. Army for four years, after which he attended and graduated from the University of Baltimore Law School. It was during that time he began a career in finance that would span 60 years. He was a fierce businessman but he had a true passion for helping people that was sometimes overshadowed by his bold determination. He was a patriot and a fighter who would never back down. Everything he had in life he earned through his hard work and perseverance and he loved to share his knowledge.
A friend and advisor to some, a teacher, mentor and father-figure to others, he truly left his mark with every person who was lucky enough to meet him. He loved basketball, boating, collecting classic and exotic cars and being with his family and he had a fun, silly side that not everyone got to see. Though he is gone, his legend and legacy will live on through his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lori, his daughter Heather Thompson and her husband, Scott, his daughter, Kelly Mosmiller, and her husband, Rick, his son, Erik Lockner, his son, Keith Brewis, and his 10 grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, May 2 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD. Interment private.
