Jennifer Lynn Otto, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2026, at her lifelong home in Pasadena, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Jennifer spent her entire life in Pasadena, where she was a valued community member and touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity.
Jennifer is the cherished daughter of Mary Ann Otto and Clayton Joseph Otto. She is survived by her loving sister, Stephanie Troutman, and brother-in-law, Michael Troutman. Jennifer was a devoted aunt to her nephews, Jax, Xavier, and Sterling Troutman, and her warmth and love will forever be remembered by them.
Jennifer's family also includes her grandmothers, Shirley Smithers and Sharon Otto, her uncle, James Robinson, her aunt, Patricia Cavanaugh, uncles John Smithers and William Smithers, and great-aunt Lois Rebetsky. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, John Smithers and Melvin Otto, and James Gregory, as well as her grandmother, Beverly Gregory.
Jennifer pursued her passion for the culinary arts at Anne Arundel Community College, where she graduated with an Associate's degree in 2009. She later earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Cyber Security in 2013 from the University of Maryland University College, now known as the University of Maryland Global Campus.
Jennifer dedicated over a decade to her work as a Computer Specialist at the Social Security Administration, where she began as a contractor and became a vital full-time employee. Her colleagues admired her dedication, problem-solving skills, and unfailing generosity.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jennifer was a devoted volunteer at Rise Above Animal Rescue. Her love for animals, especially her treasured cat, Simba, was a testament to her compassionate spirit. She found joy in spending time with her nephews, building intricate LEGO creations, and solving puzzles.
Please try to wear something blue to the visitation services that will be held at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Jennifer's life will take place at Faith Glen Burnie, Maryland, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 12:30 pm. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
The family welcomes flowers or donations in Jennifer's memory to Rise Above Animal Rescue, an organization she held dear to her heart.
Jennifer Lynn Otto's legacy will be her unwavering kindness, generosity, and the love she shared with her family, friends, and community. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered.
