Jay M. Mathias

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jay Michael Mathias, who peacefully left us on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Mike was born on November 9, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland, and resided in Pasadena, Maryland, where he shared his humor with all who knew him.

Mike is survived by his children, Shannon Mathias, Alyssa Mathias, and Paige Mathias, who carry forward his legacy of laughter. Mike is also survived by his partner, Mandy, and the mother of his children, Lynne Mathias. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Brenda Boyle, and brother, Brian Mathias, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Cameran Mathias, Aedyn Absher, and Lillian Allen, who brought immense joy to his life. He is survived by his beloved dog, who was his world, Pepper.

Mike was predeceased by his father, John Mathias, and his mother, Lillian Mathias, with whom he is now reunited.

Mike enjoyed a fulfilling career as a commercial fisherman, dedicating over 25 years to the profession he loved. His charisma and good sense of humor left a lasting impression on his fellow fishermen and everyone he encountered on the waters. Alongside his work, Mike had a passion for hobbies that brought him joy and a sense of adventure. Whether embarking on metal-detecting excursions with friends on expansive properties or immersing himself in the art of coin collecting, Mike always found delight in discovering history's hidden treasures.

Mike will be dearly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew him.
