Janice K. (Merritt) Rumenap

Janice K. Rumenap, 77, a 27 year resident of Severna Park and formerly of Pasadena, MD, died on April 4, 2021 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Mrs. Rumenap was born on February 23, 1944 in Kannapolis, NC to the late Broadus and Ann Merritt. She worked in the Hospitality industry for over 30 years. After retiring from that position in 2005, she took a job working with Anne Arundel County's Before and After Care Program and served there for over 10 years. Outside of work, Janice was a member of Trinity Bible Church and loved reading her Bible and taking care of her animals.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rumenap is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Rumenap, Jr.; son, Darin Lehnert; and twin brother, Jimmie Merritt. She is survived by her sons, Howard "Has" Lehnert and his wife, Claudia, and Kevin Lehnert and his wife, Tracy; daughter, Kimberly Norris and her husband, Harry; brother, Broadus Merritt; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way.

Friends and family may visit on Thursday, April 8 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122. Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 9 at 9:00 a.m. at Trinity Bible Church, 99 Truck House Rd., Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment at Loudon Park Cemetery.
