Janet Mae Staude, a beloved member of the Pasadena community, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13th, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on April 3rd, 1938, in Baltimore, MD, Janet was a vibrant soul who brought joy and warmth to everyone she met.
Janet resided in Pasadena, MD, where she built a life full of love and laughter. She is survived by her loving children, Cathy Schlick (George) and Gordon Berry (Lisa), her sister Gerry Rottman, and brother Johnny Meyer. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren Penny, Missy, Georgie, Stacey, Jaimie, Ashley, Leanne, and Gordie, as well as her 21 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Janet was predeceased by her parents, Leroy and Margaret Cooper, her husband Walter Staude, her twin sister Joan Young, and her brother Larry Meyer.
Janet spent her career as a waitress, where her extraordinary generosity and bright spirit touched countless lives. Beyond her professional endeavors, she was a cornerstone of her community, being very active in the VFW Auxiliary, the Democratic Club, and as a founding member of the Community Association. She had a passion for sports, particularly football, and cherished spending time fishing and with her beloved cats. Janet had an innate ability to make everyone feel at home, often opening her house to anyone in need of a meal or shelter.
Described by those who knew her as fun, stern, giving, and caring, Janet had a remarkable ability to make people smile with her infectious laughter. Affectionately called "Gram" by family, friends, and even hospital staff and nurses, she left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation services at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Sunday, January 19th, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Monday, January 20th, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Interment will take place immediately following services at Loudon Park Cemetery.
Janet lived a fulfilling life filled with love, laughter, and kindness. Her spirit and the fond memories she created will continue to echo in the hearts of all those she touched.
