James "Jimmy" Gerben Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James "Jimmy" A. Gerben, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, at the age of 68 while a chaplain from Gilchrist Hospice prayed over him. Jimmy was born on Friday, December 21st, 1956, and spent the majority of his life as a proud resident of Pasadena, Maryland.

Jimmy was a devoted family man and leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Gerben, his daughter Summer Gerben, his sons Shane, Troy, Randy, and Jason Gerben, his caring mother, Carol Gerben, his sisters Terry Walker and Karen Bowen, his brothers Andy and Chuck Gerben, and many adoring grandchildren. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, James L. Gerben, and his son, Jay Gerben, whose memories he cherished deeply.

A man of many talents, Jimmy worked as a mechanic, an auto body technician, and an automotive painter, dedicating over five decades of his life to the automotive industry since he began working at the age of 15. His passion for cars was paralleled only by his love for nature and adventure. Jimmy found joy in crabbing, spending time on the water, and visiting the beach. He was also an avid NASCAR and Baltimore Ravens fan, often sharing his enthusiasm for the game with his family and friends. He loved to dance, go rock fishing, and enjoyed race cars.

To honor and remember a remarkable man, the family will hold a memorial service at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a memorial service starting at 5:30 pm. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate Jimmy's life, share memories, and pay their respects.

Jimmy's warmth, dedication, and unwavering love for his family have left an indelible mark on those who knew him. His legacy continues in the lives of those he loved and those who loved him in return. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of many.
