James W. Voege, 57, a 4 year resident of Glen Burnie and formerly of Severna Park, died on October 17, 2020 at Franklin Square Hospital.
“Jimmy” (as he was known to friends and family) was born on September 30, 1963 in New Jersey. He worked for Pitney Bowes in the software division for 17 years up until his illness.
An avid boater, Jimmy was Treasurer of the Chesapeake Bay Power Boaters Association, often playing a key role in the organization’s many activities. He also loved all animals, and cared deeply for our cats, Zoe and Simba. He enjoyed hiking, racquetball, snow skiing, travel, and diving, most often with his beloved wife, Gail. In these activities, as in everything he did, Jimmy applied a keen intelligence, a commitment to perfection, and boundless energy and humor.
Jimmy was a shining light in the lives of his many friends, neighbors, and co-workers, and with his unfailing bright spirits he enlivened every gathering. As a friend, he was generous; as a host, he was always attentive; as a chef he was consistently first-rate. Constantly active, he was admired, too, for his skill in all areas of home improvement. He will be sorely missed—and remembered with the greatest affection.
Mr. Voege is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gail Morin, Gail’s parents and brother, his own brother, Doug Voege of St Augustine, Florida, and a niece, Silvan Voege of Palm Coast, Florida.
A memorial service may be held at a later date.
