Howard Wayne Fannin Jr. (most commonly known as Wayne) passed away at the young age of 51. He was born on September 27, 1973 in Baltimore, Maryland, and passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Wayne was a lifelong resident of Maryland, and also called Houston, Texas his second home for the last 12 years.
Wayne shared his life for the last 21 years with his fiancé Ashley Kaye Parrish. He was born to the late Howard W. Fannin Sr., and Penelope S. (Link) Praytor. He was a loving Father to his two sons, Joshua Wayne Fannin and Jordan Wayne Fannin. He was the best big brother to his sisters Angela (Fannin) Breeding, Brandy (Lowe) Morgan, Jenniffer (Link) Owens, Jessica (Fannin) Hargrove, and Rebekah Fannin. Wayne was very close to his Uncle Charles “Chuck” Link and considered him to be his dad (Pop), as well as his Aunt Tammy Link. Wayne is survived by his Stepmother, Lisa Fannin. He is also survived by John P. Parrish and Renee H. Parrish whom he loved and considered to be his in-laws, as well as John E. Parrish Sr., that he loved as his brother-in-law. Wayne also especially loved his nieces and nephews along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Wayne was proceeded in death by his Stepfather, Timothy “Tim” Praytor, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Wayne graduated in the class of 1992 from Glen Burnie High School. He also completed various vocational and technical schooling, which then led him to work in the waste industry for many years before starting and running his own company in 2012 specializing in compactor service and repair.
Wayne enjoyed many hobbies and interests but had a flare for cars and motorcycles, and shared a special love for corvettes and mustangs. He was a member of the Xcelerate Vettes car club in Houston, and enjoyed spending his days at various drag strips and car shows. He also had a love for shooting pool and played on many pool leagues, as well as being an avid gun enthusiast and spent countless weekends at the shooting range in Houston. Wayne was an exceptional welder, and often labeled himself “the best”.
Wayne’s unwavering dedication and work ethic was a true commitment to his family. His professional accomplishments were matched only by his personal devotion to his family as he continuously strived to be a source of strength and support not only for his family but for his friends as well.
Wayne’s infectious smile, bright green eyes, unique humor, and his way with words surely will be missed but he will be forever cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. Wayne was known to be very mischievous growing up and for the things that he got himself into at times, just remember all of the good times that you’ve had with him.
