Herbert Dolch Obituary

Herbert M. Dolch Jr., a cherished resident of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on December 17th, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, Herbert lived a life full of accomplishment, dedication, and love.

Herb was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Jenny Dolch, and a proud father to his son, David Dolch. His joy was further multiplied with the arrival of his grandson, Brayden Dolch. Herb also leaves behind his brothers, Edward and David Dolch. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert M. Dolch, Sr., and Mary Ann Dolch.

After serving honorably in the United States Navy, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Herb returned to his Maryland roots. He dedicated his professional life to working as a tile installer for John H. Hampshire for over 35 years, where his hard work and integrity were universally respected.

Herb was an active member of Magothy United Methodist Church, where he volunteered and served in many capacities. He was a passionate sports enthusiast, both as an athlete and a fan. In his younger years, he was a talented semi-pro baseball player with the Baltimore Major League in Gambrills, Maryland, never losing a game as a pitcher for two consecutive years and leading his team to the State Championship. He was deeply committed to his monthly breakfasts with childhood friends from Pigtown, Baltimore, cherishing the shared memories and camaraderie.

His love for sports extended beyond playing the game. Herb was a devoted fan of the Orioles and Ravens, spending countless joyous hours cheering them on. He held season tickets to the Colts' NFL games from a young age, thanks to the support from his "Uncle Tip," who was an influential figure in his life. Herb treasured the silver dollars given to him, which he saved to indulge his passion for football.

Herb leaves behind a legacy of warmth, dedication, and passion that will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and the community. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know him.
