Henry Schmidt Obituary

Henry Alfred Schmidt, 94, a lifelong resident of Maryland, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 10, 2024. 

Mr. Schmidt was born July 16, 1930 in Pasadena, Maryland to the late William J., Sr. and Grace A. Schmidt. He was a farmer from the day he was born until the day he passed. He was actively involved in agriculture and always had a hand in the community. He was an integral part of Friends of Hancock's Resolution for many years and a founding member of the Hancock's Resolution Foundation. He was also a member of the PBA, former President of Maryland Farm Bureau as well as, former President of the Lake Shore Rotary Club. In his free time, he loved to fly airplanes, enjoyed antique cars and going for coffee every morning on the Eastern Shore with friends. He was a hardworking, straight forward man who was loved and admired by so many. His legacy will never be forgotten. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Schmidt is preceded in death by his daughter, Deanna Baldwin and brother, William J. Schmidt, Jr. He is survived by his partner of 40 years, Marie Baehr; son Glenn Schmidt and his wife Peaches, son-in-law David Baldwin; grandchildren, Heather Schmidt and her husband Nick Hovaker, Glenn "Marty" Schmidt and his wife Allison, Allison Baldwin and her partner Josh Tutchton; great grandchildren, Reed Schmidt, Emma Schmidt and Tate Schmidt; step-children, Richard Baehr, Christine Conrad and her husband Brian, Andrea Baehr; step-grandchildren, Katelyn Tobias, Cameron Ohler, Nicki Baehr, Jen Baehr and Taylor Conrad. 

Friends and family may visit Wednesday, August 14th from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where services will be held Thursday, August 15th at 10:00 am. Interment will take place immediately following funeral services at Magothy Church Cemetery on Mountain Road. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hancock's Resolution Foundation, 8328 Schmidts Lane, Pasadena, MD 21122.
