Harvey Martin Obituary

Harvey was a man of faith, a loving father, and husband. Through his life experiences, specifically his upbringing on farms in Anne Arundel County and his time serving in the United States Army he was instilled with discipline, preparation, and organization.

Harvey was a trusted individual, embodying and demonstrating the values of faith, love, and respect. As a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he excelled in his roles, demonstrating unwavering dedication and love.

Harvey was a devoted husband, deeply committed to his wife June’s happiness, which he cherished during their travels and in every shared outing. Celebrating 41 years together June and Harvey were inseparable. He was her ‘Dapper Dan,’ always impeccably dressed and fondly known for his signature fedoras.”

As a loving father, he was always generous with his time, sharing words of wisdom about leadership, life, love, and the importance of family.

Harvey took great care in raising his children Wendy, Lorri, Michelle, and Chuck, offering steadfast support and guidance through life’s joys and challenges. He had an unwavering ability to see the potential in others and believed in their success, leaving a lasting impact across multiple generations. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.”

In his leisure time, Harvey enjoyed observing nature from his backyard or visiting Fort Smallwood park, where he would watch birds, animals, and people.

His passing leaves a void, and the memories of our spiritual conversations and life lessons will be deeply missed. As a rock and a blessing, Harvey played a pivotal role in shaping many lives, and his influence will be remembered for years to come.

He often shared the words “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift, and he lived his life true to those words and would want us all to do the same.

Harvey is survived by his wife June, his children  Wendy Houseknecht (David) Lorri Fuller (Andy) Michele Keil (Robert) Chuck Sauer (Heather), 10 grandchildren Rebecca Voelpel (Joseph), Nicole Peterson (R.T.), Andrew Fuller (Catherine), Kristie Fuller, Takumi Haskin (Brandie), Buck Sauer, Levi Sauer, Troy and Jocelyn Lombardos and Kayleigh Keil and 7 Great Grandchildren Tyler and Rylie Hupfer, Jaxon Peterson, Madison and Cameron Fuller, Joshua and Kyrie Haskin.
