George Brown, a cherished resident of Severna Park, MD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, at the age of 73. Born in Baltimore, MD, on Thursday, August 23rd, 1951, George led a life full of dedication, passion, and love for his family and community.
George's commitment to service began with his brave tenure in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, serving his country with honor until 1972. After returning home, he continued to embody the virtues of service and community as a volunteer firefighter at the Brooklyn Park Station #31 in the early 1970s.
In the following years, George embarked on a distinguished career, initially working as a mechanic for the Coast Guard. His professional journey evolved as he joined the B&O Railroad, which became Chessie Systems, working as a dedicated conductor until his retirement in 2008.
George was a devoted husband to his wife, Linda Brown, of Severna Park, MD, and a loving father to his sons, George Brown, III and his wife Rhonda and Paul L. Brown. He was also a cherished brother to Judith Tuminello. His legacy of warmth and kindness extends to his grandchildren, George Brown, IV, Savannah Brown, Eryk Bennett, Michael Brown, and Kilynn Brown, as well as his great-grandchild, Grason M. Brown.
Preceded in death by his father, George M. Brown Sr., his mother, Naomi Virginia Brown, and his brother, Wayne Brown, George is remembered for his passion for the simple joys of life. He loved watching classic TV shows, especially classics like the Three Stooges, and he enthusiastically cheered for the Ravens.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 11:00 am at Stallings Funeral Home followed by a memorial service to celebrate George's life beginning at 11:00 am.
