George S. Harmon, 92, of Pasadena, passed away peacefully at his home on November 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 25, 1932, George lived a full and meaningful life, leaving a legacy of hard work, dedication, and cherished memories.
George was a proud and dedicated truck driver for 40 years and later served the community as a school bus driver for Anne Arundel County Public Schools for 20 years. He also drove for the Providence Center, touching countless lives with his service. A committed member of the Teamster Union, George was known for his strong work ethic and camaraderie with his fellow drivers. After retiring for the second time, George enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—watching old western films, keeping up with the latest news, reading his daily newspaper, and spending precious time with his beloved dogs, Artie and Little Duke.
George is reunited in eternity with his wife, Kathryn Harmon; his parents, Mildred Anna Harmon (nee Elgert) and Edward S. Harmon; his brother, Charles Harmon; and his great-granddaughter, Katelyn Meek. He is survived by his two sons, George R. Harmon (Karen) of Florida and Edward C. Harmon (Cheryl~deceased) of Pasadena; three daughters, Gayle E. Westcott (Bob) of Pasadena, Donna L. Meek (Chuck~deceased-of Pasadena) of West Virginia, and Sharon Graefe (John III) of Glen Burnie. George was a proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, with even more joy brought by his 3 great-great-grandchildren and one soon to arrive. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
George’s life was a testament to love, loyalty, and devotion to family and community. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
