Genece (Hunt) Bowie

Genece Bowie, 84, of Perry Hall, MD, and a longtime resident of Glen Bernie, MD, wife of the late Leroy "Jim" Alton Bowie entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 12, 2024.  

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2024  at 10:00 am at Stallings Funeral Home 3111 Mountain Rd. Pasadena, MD 21122  with a burial at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery 11301 Crain Hwy, Cheltenham, MD 20623 at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends at her Visitation on Thursday, January 9, 2024 at Stallings Funeral Home 3111 Mountain Rd. Pasadena, MD 21122 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and  7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Genece was born January 3, 1940 in Fairmont, NC, daughter of the late Elisha Hunt and the late Bessie Strickland Hunt. She loved spending time with her family and loving on her grandchildren. She loved cooking for her family, especially her famous pound cake. 

She is survived by son, Jeffrey Lynn Chilcote (Dorette) of Summerville, SC; grandchildren: Tiffany Lynn Doxanas (Tom) of Perry Hall, MD, Jeffrey Lynn Chilcote II MD (Anna) of Boston, MA, Camille Ann Snow (Carlton), Eleanor Mae Chilcote, and Griffin Hubert Chilcote all of Summerville, SC; great grandchildren: Cadence, Xander, Sedi, Grayson, Evelyn, Cora, Wells and Miley; siblings: Edna Sampson of Lumberton, NC, Kathy Oxendine (Jimmy) of Fairmont, NC, Jack Hunt (Audrey) of SC and Margaret Brown (Rex) of Jacksonville, FL; step-children: Tammy Cartee, Ivan Hyde and Karen Dennehy; and many loved nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Sherry Lynn Chilcote; and siblings: Vertie, Regina, Rosey, Betty, Buddy, Tiny, Willie and Lee.
