Gary Rowland Shaw, a life-long resident of Pasadena, MD, passed away at his home on Friday, May 10, 2024.
He was born on Sunday, November 10, 1946 in Baltimore, MD to the late Rowland and Carolean Shaw. Mr. Shaw attended Severna Park High School. He was employed by B & A Railroad in Linthicum for several years, until their public bus system was absorbed by Maryland Transit Administration. In 1982, he began working as an HVAC Mechanic with the Maryland Transit Administration until his retirement in 2011.
Gary enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, his John Deere tractor and at one time bowled in several duckpin leagues at Severna Park Lanes. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Orioles and Ravens.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Naomi “Butch” LaFave and brother-in-law, Daniel LaFave. Mr. Shaw is survived by his daughter Sandi Chisholm and her husband Bob; his sister Rosalie Setlech and her husband, Paul; his granddaughters Brittany Chisholm and Hannah Horner and her husband Chris; his great granddaughter Morgan, as well as several extended family members, including his amazing neighbors, The Lohrmann’s.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, May 18th, 2024 at Stallings Funeral Home from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm where a time of sharing will take place that same evening at 5:00 pm. Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in his memory.
