Frederick R. Saghy, Sr., 84, a 65 year resident of Pasadena and formerly of Baltimore, MD, died at his home on May 11, 2021.
Mr. Saghy was born on March 20, 1937 in Prince Frederick, MD to the late Stephen and Evelyn Saghy. After high school, he served honorably in the United States Navy and then spent many years working for Baltimore Gas and Electric. He also volunteered with the Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Department in the late 1960s and was a 20 year member of the Anne Arundel Alarmers Association, where he served as Quartermaster and on the Board of Directors. Outside of work and volunteering, Mr. Saghy was a past member of the Glen Burnie and Pasadena Moose Lodge and enjoyed doing cross word puzzles in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Saghy is preceded in death by his brothers, Stephen and Lawrence Saghy. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Bertha A. Saghy; son, Frederick R. Saghy, Jr. of Pasadena; daughter, Terrie Clause-Cruz (Tony) of Pasadena; 3 grandchildren, Daniel and Britney Clause (Shawn Squire) and Maria Coons; and 5 great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Daniel, and Lily Clause and Amber and Molly Coons.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, May 14 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will begin at 8:00 p.m. Interment private.
