Franklin Willard Milholland, 78, a resident of Pasadena, MD since the early 1950s and formerly of Baltimore, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 13, 2020.
Mr. Milholland was born on June 11, 1941 in Baltimore, MD to the late Franklin and Viva Milholland. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School in the late 1950s and then served honorably in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. After his service in the army, he began a career with the Anne Arundel County Police where he eventually earned the rank of Captain before retiring in the early 1990s. During his time on the police force, Franklin also earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Maryland and graduated from Session 117 of the FBI Academy Association. After retirement, he taught Law Enforcement classes at Anne Arundel Community College.
Franklin was a founding member and the first Vice President of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #70. He was also a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Millersville. Outside of work, Franklin enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling - he and his wife were even able to visit numerous national parks in every state.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Milholland is also preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Breneman. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Dedra C. Milholland; son, Edward F. Milholland of Pasadena; daughter, Kimberly L. Kreh and her husband, Gary, of Laurel; and 5 grandchildren, Alexis, Kayla, and Thomas Milholland and Jordan and Jenna Kreh.
In response to the state and county-mandated COVID-19 restrictions, the immediate family has chosen to keep the funeral services and interment private in order to protect the health of the public.
