Emily "Sue" Arvella (Gillece) Ford

Emily “Sue” A. Ford, 104, died peacefully in her home in Pasadena, MD on January 1, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Edward Bernard Gillece and Mary Ethel (Timanus) Gillece.  She was born on September 27, 1917 in Baltimore, MD.

Sue was an avid reader and amazing cook.  She loved spending time with her family.  Nothing was more important than her strong faith in God.  She was an active member of Community United Methodist Church for most of her life, volunteering many hours for the Annual Strawberry Festival, fundraisers, bazaars, fruit sale with the Lion’s Club, and playing “Sonny” in a church performance onstage about Sonny & Cher, or dressing up as Betty Boop.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Edward Bernard Gillece, Jr., James Milton Gillece, William Mayberry Gillece, husband William H. Ford, and daughter, Patricia Lee Ford (Born) Duckett.  Surviving are her daughter, Diane (Ford) Behn and son, James Ford (Sharon), grandchildren Jennifer (Behn) Schaaf (Charlie), Scott Born, Tim Born, Michael Born (Lori), Lisa (Born) Weishaar (Bud), Mary Anne Born, great-grandchildren Brittany (Born) Drannan (Jacob) & great-great grandson, Greyson, Zach Born (Heather), Blake Weishaar, Abby (Born) Larson (Kyle), Brendan Born, Annie (Weishaar) Medairy (Casey), and Molli Born.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM.  Interment immediately following the funeral services at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7215 Ritchie Hwy, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.  Those who wish to remember Sue in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Community United Methodist Church, 8680 Fort Smallwood Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 or Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122 (HospiceChesapeake.org).
