Elmer Eugene Greer, a 27 year resident of Pasadena, MD and formerly of Gambrills and Glen Burnie, died at his home on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
Mr. Greer was born on April 29, 1938 in Grayson, NC to the late Ruben and Bessie Greer. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963 and was stationed in Germany. After returning from his military service, Elmer began a career as a well driller, working for H & H Bunker Well Drilling and HJ Greer before opening his own business, Gambrills Well and Pump Service, in 1982. He eventually returned to HJ Greer as a Master Driller and would go on to retire from there after many years of service.
Outside of work, Elmer enjoyed spending time with his family and building furniture for his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Greer is preceded in death by his daughter, Lana Susanne Arguello; brothers, Robert and Bruce Greer; and sisters, Edna Greer, Connie Baldwin, and Frances Brennaman. He is survived by his sons, Eric E. Greer (Angel Reynaert) and Matthew W. Greer (Jessica Holtman), both of Pasadena; daughters, Janet Dawn Hambrecht of Texas and Tina Marie Crawford; brother, Harold Greer of Millersville; 12 grandchildren, Jessie Painter, Jake Greer, Ashley Franke (Leroy), Brett Painter, Faith Hambrecht, Lana Greer, Deja Arguello, Jordan Greer, Ella Greer, Jordan Stencil, Joshua Stencil, and Destiny Dichinel; and 5 great-grandchildren, Savanna Painter, Peyton and Noah Tichinel, and Johnny and Ethan Franke.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, May 21 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122. However, due to the county-mandated COVID-19 restrictions, no more than 10 people can visit at one time. If you plan to attend, please consider keeping your visit short to allow others to pay their respects as well.
