Elaine M. Harris, 99, a resident of Maryland for 78 years and formerly of New York, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 in her home.
Mrs. Harris was born September 24, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Vincent and Susan Bellizzi.
Mrs. Harris was a dedicated homemaker who held various types of jobs throughout her life. She was a very active volunteer at Baltimore Washington Medical Center where she spent countless hours helping others. She was also a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and loved the Lord. She would always pray for the many blessings in her life and was grateful for the gifts God had provided for her. In her free time, Mrs. Harris loved to go shopping. Her family referenced her as an "AVID" shopper who also enjoyed traveling anywhere that wasn't home, going on cruises, driving and enjoying her independence. She was the type of woman who was always on the go and would love to go anywhere with anyone at any time. She was described as being vibrant and a person who lived her life to the absolute fullest. She always found a way to be joyful, even when her heart was heavy. Above anything, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and all the pets that came with them. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harris is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Harris; 7 siblings and grandchildren, Wayne, Jr. and Melissa. She is survived by her children, Wayne B. Harris, Sr. and his wife Linda, Bonnie Brady and her husband Richard, David Harris and Susan Johnston and her husband Don; grandchildren Richard Jr. and his wife Christine, Brian and his wife Kim, Denise and her husband Ray, Carrie and her husband Eric, David and his wife Melanie, Kristen, Cory, Kaitlin and Ryan and his wife Jenni, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 17th and Thursday, January 18th from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122. A Christian Burial Service will be held Friday, January 19th at 10:00 am at Christ the King Catholic Church (formerly Holy Trinity) in Glen Burnie. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral services at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
