Edna Virginia Holmes, 88, a resident of Pasadena, MD for over 70 years and formerly of West Virginia, died on August 18, 2021.
Mrs. Holmes was born on September 17, 1932 in West Virginia to the late William and Cora Montgomery. She retired in the late 1990s after over 30 years of service working at George Fox Middle School in Pasadena. In her spare time, Edna enjoyed camping, watching country music shows, playing the banjo, and singing. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holmes is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Truman Holmes; sons, David and Calvin Holmes; brother, Clifton John Montgomery; sisters, Rosie Kesecker and Shirley Fisher; and son-in-law, Edward Stanley. She is survived by her daughters, Claudette Stanley and Brenda (Billy) Booth, both of Pasadena; daughter-in-law, Joanne Holmes; 7 grandchildren, Calvin Jr., Michelle, Paulette, Leonard, Mandy, Billy Jr., and Angie; 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, August 22 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will take place on Monday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
