Douglas Lowther Obituary

Douglas D. Lowther, 69, a 23 year resident of Pasadena, MD and formerly of the Westport/Brooklyn area of Baltimore, died on December 14, 2020 at the Hospice of the Chesapeake Center in Pasadena.

Mr. Lowther was born on November 28, 1951 in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Southern High School in the late 1960s and eventually began a career with Maryland's Office of the Public Defender. Outside of work, Douglas was a member of Harundale Presbyterian Church and the Glen Burnie Masonic Lodge #213, where he served as Lodge Master in 2003 and 2006. During his time as a Mason, he ultimately attained the 32 Degree of the Scottish Rite. In his spare time, Mr. Lowther enjoyed fishing, cheering on the Ravens and Orioles, and participating in Civil War re-enactments during the 1980s as a soldier of the 21st Georgia Infantry. He also loved music and played a variety of different stringed instruments.

Mr. Lowther is preceded in death by his mother, Ella Grace McGhee. He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Denise L. Fowble; brother, Roger McGhee, Sr. of Laurel; nephew, Roger McGhee, Jr.; niece, Kelly McGhee; and great-nephew, Carter Torres.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, December 19 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will begin at 8:00 p.m. Interment private. The funeral service will also be livestreamed on the obituary page and on Stallings Funeral Home's Facebook page (click HERE).

Please be aware that, due to county-mandated COVID-19 restrictions, Stallings Funeral Home is only allowing 40 people in the building at a time and face coverings must be worn while inside. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harundale Presbyterian Church (Designated to "Taste of Heaven"), 1020 Eastway, Glen Burnie, MD 21060.
