Doris Jean (Gooden) Hoffman

Doris Hoffman, nee Doris Jean Gooden, 82, died on September 23, 2022at her home in Pasadena, Maryland. Born in Elkins, West Virginia on December 9, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Mildred Gooden. She is survived by her loving husband John Hoffman of 59 years and their beloved daughters, Donna Hoffman and Cyndi Gerety. She was a loving "Mommom" to Talor Nichole Gerety. She was preceded in death by her sister, Maryann Leary, and her brother, Russell Gooden. 

Doris Hoffman moved to Baltimore, MD at the age of 16. She started working at Food Fair, which is where she met her husband. After 47 years in the food industry, she retired and spent her days at her home with her family. 

Doris loved to sit in her recliner and fill in her puzzles. Her favorite thing in this world were her red cardinals. She had them placed all over her house, constantly in her sight. She liked to sit on the front porch with company or down by the water and feed the ducks. Doris treasured her friends and kept in touch with them. 

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 30th at 11:00 am at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122. Interment will take place at Meadowridge Memorial Park immediately following the funeral service. 

In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory may be made to the Magothy Chelsea Lutheran Church at 265 Beach Avenue, Pasadena, MD 21122
