It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Lee Ethel McCauley, who departed this world on Monday, January 26th, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on Tuesday, June 12th, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland, Donna was a beloved resident of Glen Burnie, MD, for over 60 years, dedicating her life to her family, community, and the many children she cared for.
Donna was a devoted child care provider, sharing her warmth and kindness at Wheels Skating Center and later as a Teacher's Aid at Beechfield Elementary. She also enriched the lives of countless children through her volunteer work in the after-school care program at Marley Elementary. Her legacy of nurturing and educating young minds will be cherished by all who knew her.
A woman of varied interests, Donna was a licensed HAM radio operator for 20 years, enjoyed crafts, and took pride in capturing precious family moments through photographs decorating her home. She adored her dogs and delighted in decorating for all of the holidays. Donna found immense joy in taking cruises with her husband and indulging in shopping excursions, always with a radiant smile and contagious enthusiasm.
She is survived by her loving family, including her adoring spouse of 10 years, James ‘Jim’ McCauley, her sons Mike King and his wife Jenn, Joe W. King and his wife Kristin, her sister Nancy Kraft, her sister Patty VanDyke and 9 grandchildren and bonus grandchildren. Donna was predeceased by her father, Allan R. Smith, her mother, Elizabeth Smith, and her sister, Carol Patterson.
Family, friends, and those whose lives she touched are invited to celebrate Donna’s life at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland. An afternoon visitation will be held on Monday, February 2nd, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by an evening visitation from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will commence at 8:00 pm that same day, officiated by Cassandra Skinner. A private burial will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
