Deborah Arlene (Meeks) Somers, age 89, of Pasadena, MD, passed away on May 5, 2024 at Regency Park Assisted Living, supported by her family. Arlene was born on March 11, 1935 in Baltimore, MD. On May 1, 1954, Arlene married James Somers, Sr. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Baltimore, MD.
Arlene dedicated her life to living as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Together with her husband, they attended many dance functions, leading to countless friendships, social activities and travels. Arlene was passionate about time spent with her family, gardening, sewing, crafting and Christmas decorating. Arlene enjoyed vacations with her family. Arlene is preceded in death by her husband James, parents William and Gertrude Meeks, brothers Gordon, William, Richard, Donald, and sister, Janet. Arlene is survived by her sister Irene.
Arlene is survived by her daughter, Karen Tate and husband, Keith, son, James Somers, Jr. and wife, Jean, daughter, Diane Brennan, and son, Robert Somers and wife, Traci. Arlene is survived by 11 grandchildren: Zachary Tate, Eric Tate and wife, Lauren, Katelyn Mazzochette and husband, Mark, Bryan Somers, Jason Somers, Joshua Brennan, Andrew Brennan, Michael Brennan, Patrick Brennan, Reagan Somers, Noelle Somers and 8 great grandchildren: Landon Johnson - Tate, Brooke Tate, Grayson Tate, Ava Tate, Jackson Tate, Paul Mazzochette, Louis Mazzochette and Rose Mazzochette, also numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Arlene’s life at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be celebrated at Stallings Funeral Home on May 16, 2024 at 9:00am. Immediately following, internment will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD.
