David Sellers Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Hudson Sellers, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this life on Sunday, December 22, 2024. Born on July 1, 1946, in West Virginia, David was a resident of Pasadena, Maryland, where he created a life marked by devotion, service, and camaraderie.

David was the cherished husband of Mary Margaret Ann Sellers, affectionately known as Ann, who was the love of his life and his steadfast companion on many adventures, especially their cherished visits to Ireland. He is also survived by his brother, Frederick "Freddy" Sellers, and sister, Dixie Sellers. His love of family extended to his numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, who all adored him. Their memories of his humor and kindness will be treasured. David's extended family includes four brother-in-laws and six sister-in-laws in Ireland, reflecting his deep connections across the Atlantic.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Henry Sellers and Lola Sellers, who instilled in him the values of integrity and service. A man of honor, David served proudly in the United States Air Force. His commitment to his country continued with a distinguished career at the Department of Defense, where he worked tirelessly for 37 years, retiring with the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

A proud alumnus of the University of Maryland's overseas program, David was not only a man of service but also a man of learning. His passion for travel opened doors to many cultures and friendships worldwide. This global perspective enriched his life and those of all who knew him.

David was deeply involved with the Knights of Columbus, embodying their principles of charity, unity, and fraternity. His passions also included baseball, especially his beloved New York Yankees, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer on college football. He took pride in building a Guinness-themed "man cave," a testament to his love of good company and laughter. In the colder months, when things slowed down, David could be found looking up his family lineage and Genealogy.

To know David was to appreciate his outgoing nature, humor, and his remarkable ability to connect with people. He was a man who brought joy and laughter to every room, and leaves behind a legacy of love and humor.
