It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David P. Cook, a beloved lifetime resident of Pasadena, Maryland. David passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26th, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on August 15th, 1937, David spent his entire life in the community he cherished and served.
David took great pride in his education, having graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1955. Soon after, he embarked on a career as a body shop technician, where his talent for metal fabrication was unmatched. In 1987, he began a dedicated career with the Naval Service Warfare Center for 15 years, retiring in 2002.
Known for his numerous passions, David was actively involved in preserving and sharing history through his participation in the Civil War MM in Gettysburg and the Liberty Ship Project. He was an avid collector of Civil War memorabilia, reflecting a deep respect for the past. Additionally, David had a lifelong love for cars, having driven a 1936 drag car for Gene Cooper, owner of Southern Speed Shop.
David leaves behind a loving family, including his sons, David W. Cook and his wife Jennie, and Robert Cook. He is also survived by his brothers, Edwin L. Cook and Robert W. Cook, his sister, Carol Jean Cook, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Philip Cook, Joshua Cook, and Rebecca Cook. His legacy will undoubtedly live on through his great-grandchildren, Henry Cook, Lilian Cook, and Jocelyn Cook. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends will also remember him fondly.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Louise Cook, the mother of his children, Lois A. Cook, and his beloved daughter, Tracy Lynn Cook.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland. Afternoon visitation is scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with evening visitation on the same day from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
In memory of his generous spirit, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Dept., the Wounded Warriors, or the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
David P. Cook will be remembered as a devoted father, brother, grandfather, and friend who lived a life enriched by his love for family, service, and community. His spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
