Daniel Michael Sylvester

Daniel Michael Sylvester, also known as Big Daddy, 45, a lifelong resident of Maryland, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. 

Mr. Sylvester was born January 23, 1979 in Baltimore, Maryland to Steven and Elizabeth Sylvester. He worked for the International Longshoreman Association Chesapeake Ports of America as a Crane Mechanic. He had just celebrated his 15th year with the company in October. He was hard worker who absolutely loved his job. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed going the the Casino and working out at the gym. He was quite the character who always made people laugh and had a goofy personality. His smile could light up and entire room and he was a fantastic listener. He gave great emotional support, especially to his niece, Julia, who he would have countless conversations with at work and held space for her in the toughest times. He was caring, understanding and the least judgmental person you could meet. Above all, he loved his children and spending time with them. He was so loved and will be terribly missed. 

Mr. Sylvester is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edward and Florence Sylvester and maternal grandparents, John and Margaret Tate. He is survived by his parents, Steven Sylvester and Elizabeth Sylvester; children, Jagger, Maxx, Memphis and Sly; brother, Steve "Frogs" Sylvester; niece, Julia Sylvester; longtime friends, Paula and Kelly, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Friends and family may visit Saturday, July 20th from 1-5 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122. Interment is private. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Daniel's children. Checks can be made to Queenstown Bank.
