Cynthia Rush Obituary

Cynthia Rush, 62, a resident of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at Hospice of the Chesapeake.

Mrs. Rush was born September 22, 1961 in Baltimore, MD to the late Walter and Margaret Hudyma. She received her Associates Degree from Anne Arundel Community College in Social Work. However, most of her life, she worked in Food service. From there, she got a job as an HR Accountant for a food broker for about 18 years. In her free time, Mrs. Rush enjoyed attending church at Lake Shore Baptist and lead the Women's Ministry and volunteered in the Youth Ministry. She loved Jesus and was dedicated to serving the Lord. One of her many talents included Event Planning and Hospitality. Her daughter said it best when she described her mother as, "The party hostess with the mostest!" She always planned themed events with matching drinks, decorations, games and food. She also loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Scotland, Alaska, Hawaii, Arizona and cruising to the Southern Caribbean. When she wasn't event planning or traveling, Mrs. Rush enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking and playing games. She was a dedicated grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow. She was described as being caring, "punny" and a great listener. She had an immense presence about her and would light up any room she walked in to. She was also selfless and would do anything for anyone at any time. She will never be forgotten.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rush is preceded in death by her sister, Linda Poteet and husband Larry, and Parents Walter and Rita. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, George Rush; children Chelsey Oliver and her husband Nathan and Brandon Rush and his partner Jayleen Bermea; brother, Steve Huydma and his wife Midge, children Jaelin and Garrett; her Niece Lauren Pippin, spouse Joe and children SadieJo and Clayton, and grandchildren Piper Oliver (age 4) and Penny Oliver (age 1).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday February 10th at 3pm at Lake Shore Baptist Church (4613 Mountain Road Pasadena Md 21122). A reception and time of fellowship will be held immediately following in the fellowship hall at the church.
