Clara Klug Love, 96, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Brookdale South Assisted Living.
Born on October 15, 1929, in Pasadena, Maryland, Clara was the daughter of William Vincent Klug and Katharine Elsie (Clauss) Klug. She devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Clara took great pride in caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. For many years, she also worked part-time at Saunders Florist in Pasadena, Maryland.
Clara’s life was guided by her strong Christian faith and enriched by a life-long love of music. Fondly known as “Aunt Sis,” many enjoyed her cooking especially her variety of cakes, pastries and other baked goods. She enjoyed singing and playing her piano. Her gentle spirit, kindness and devotion to family will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Janet Love of Vero Beach, Florida and Paula Love of Lincolnton, North Carolina; her grandchildren: Kendel (Grove) Hannon and her husband, Devin Hannon, of Pasadena, Maryland and Christopher Thomas Despot and his wife Niki Despot of Oakland, Maryland; her great-grandchildren Jackson Cash Hannon and Olivia Brooklyn Hannon both of Pasadena, Maryland; and her two sisters-in-law: Shirley Love of Edgewood, Maryland and Jean Love of Weatogue, Connecticut. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Clara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Reverend Calvert Bernard Love, Jr.; parents William Vincent Klug and Katharine Elsie (Clauss); sister Frances Marie (Klug) Arnold; brothers William Vincent Klug Jr., Benjamin Henry Klug, James Franklin Klug, John George Klug; and son-in-law Kenneth D. Fuchs.
A graveside service will be held at Glen Haven Cemetery in Glen Burnie, Maryland on Monday, March 16 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to remember Clara to consider a contribution in her memory to Christ Lutheran Church, 8249 Jumpers Hole Road, Millersville, MD 21108, or Old Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, 2035 Old Conover-Startown Rd., Newton, NC 28658.
Clara will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
