Charles "Chuck" W. Schafer, Jr., 96, a resident of Pasadena, MD for the majority of his life, died on October 1, 2022 at Comfort Care Assisted Living in Pasadena.
Mr. Schafer was born on December 8, 1925 in Baltimore, MD to the late Charles Sr. and Amelia Schafer. From 1943 to 1946, he served in the United States Navy during World War II. After returning from his time in the service, he eventually began working as an Electronics Engineer Aide for Westinghouse Corporation at the Bay Bridge location. Chuck retired from there in 1988 and moved to Florida where he lived for about 20 years before returning to Pasadena. He was a member of the Glen Burnie Elks BPOE Lodge 2266, Glen Burnie Moose, American Legion, Goose Who the Gunning Club of Chestertown and Community United Methodist Church, and, during his time in Florida, Englewood United Methodist Church. In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, boating, camping and golfing.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Schafer is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Thelma Schafer. He is survived by his children, Lynn A. Hicks (Charles) of Pasadena, Charles Andrews (Linda) of Middle River, and Lynn A. Tomeck (Martin of Glen Burnie); 6 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, October 4 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD 21122 where funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 5 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
