Charles E. Richter Jr., a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, just one day shy of his 88th birthday. Born on Friday, January 29th, 1937 in Jamestown, New York, Charles led a life marked by service, family, and personal achievement.

Charles was a proud alumnus of the University of Florida, where he laid the academic foundation for his notable career in public service. Serving honorably in the United States Marine Corps, Charles embraced the values of discipline, integrity, and loyalty, which guided him throughout his professional and personal life. He embarked on a long and distinguished career as an investigator with the U.S. government, retiring after more than 25 years of dedicated service in 1989.

In 1972, Charles and his beloved wife, Eileen, made Pasadena, Maryland their home, where they raised their family and became cherished members of the community. After retiring from government service, Charles co-founded Richter Contractors, Inc. with his son Bryan, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to family legacy. Together, they built a respected local business over the course of 35 years.

Charles’s life was enriched by his love for crossword puzzles, his fondness for family gatherings, and spending time in Ocean City, Maryland. He was passionate about spending quality time with his family, creating countless cherished memories that will forever be held dear by those he leaves behind.

Charles is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Eileen Richter; his son Bryan Richter and his wife Terry and his daughter Kim Mymo and her husband Mike; his sister, Sherry Owens; and his two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Richter Sr. and Helen Richter, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. A funeral service to honor Charles's remarkable life will be held at the same location on Monday, February 3rd, 2025, at 10:00 am.
