Carroll "Tex" Schoolman, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025, at the age of 86. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on Friday, February 17th, 1939, Carroll was a longtime resident of Flintstone, Maryland.
Tex led a life marked by service, dedication, and love. He proudly served in the Navy, participating in significant events during the Geneva Conventions. Following his military service, Carroll dedicated over 25 years of his career to the National Security Agency (NSA), retiring in 1993. Throughout his life, Tex cherished time spent outdoors, finding great joy in hunting and fishing. A very handy man, he loved woodworking and making jewelry boxes, music boxes, and dressers.
He was preceded in death by his dear parents, Paul and Bertha Schoolman, and his beloved wife, Janice Schoolman. His memory will be lovingly cherished by his children: Janet "Bunny" Babington and her husband Alvin, Rick Schoolman and his wife Amy, and Tommy Schoolman. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Grizzel, along with his treasured grandchildren, Allan, Amber, Zachary, Candice, Tommy, Joey, and Sarah, and his seven great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.
Friends and family will gather to honor Tex's life at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland. Afternoon visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, followed by evening visitation from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm the same day. A funeral service to celebrate Tex's life and legacy will take place on Friday, May 30th, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the same location. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral service at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
Tex's family finds solace in the memories of his warm and loving presence and his firm dedication to those he held dear. His life of service and the love he generously shared will be remembered and cherished forever by those fortunate enough to have known him.
