Carolyn Faye Vance, 71, a recent resident of Christianburg, VA and formerly of Pasadena, MD, died on March 7, 2021.
Ms. Vance was born on January 14, 1950 in War, WV to the late John Rexford Gentry, Sr. and Thelma Louise Gentry (Senter). She became a mother while stationed with her husband in Hawaii and from that moment on was a dedicated homemaker who loved raising her children. She especially enjoyed taking them on trips to amusement parks, camping parks, caverns and anywhere else where memories could be made.
Later in life, Carolyn became well known for breeding Siamese cats and sold them to people from all over the East Coast. She also loved listening to Janice Joplin and shopping at yard sales and Brumwell’s Flea Market.
Ms. Vance is survived by her sons, Darryl E. Vance, II and David E. Vance; daughter, Crystal M. Vance; brothers, Mike Gentry and John Gentry, Jr.; sisters, Marsha Stigler and her identical twin, Brenda Lumis; and 7 grandchildren, Cassandra B. Vance, Colin V. McKellar, Derrick Vance, Dominic Vance, Tyler Vance, Asher Vance, and Elliott Vance.
Funeral services and interment are private.
