It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Leonard Stromberg, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Carol left this world peacefully on Friday, November 28th, 2025, at the age of 80. She was a beloved resident of Glen Burnie, MD, for 62 years.
Carol was born on Saturday, October 20th, 1945, to Chester and Doreen Leonard. She shared a fulfilling childhood with her siblings, including her surviving brother, David Leonard, and sister, Susan Andrews, and was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Leonard.
A proud graduate of Arundel High School's class of 1963, Carol embarked on a dedicated 42-year-long career at SuperFresh as a Shipping Receiver, where she was known for her loyalty and hard work until her retirement.
Carol's life was enriched by her love for family and community. Over the years, she found joy in bowling with her team at Southdale on Jumpers, especially treasuring those Sunday night league matches. She was known as Mammy to her 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and all of their friends, and her true passion was spending time with them, attending their sporting events, and sharing in their triumphs and joys. Known for her love of reading, Carol often enjoyed getting lost in suspense novels, particularly those by John Grisham. Moreover, she had a deep affection for the many dogs she cared for throughout her life, each one holding a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James Stromberg, who shared with her a life full of love and companionship.
Carol is survived by her loving children: Patricia Gill and her husband Charles, Kimberly Willey and her husband Dorsey, Jennifer Jazwinski, Mary Parker and her husband James, and James 'Sam' Stromberg; and Courtney Stromberg and Brittany Lloyd, who were raised by Mammy as her own. Her legacy also extends to numerous nieces and nephews, who adored her dearly.
Friends and family are invited to honor and celebrate Carol’s life during the visitation, which will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by her funeral service at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025, at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to ALS organizations, reflecting Carol's compassionate spirit and dedication to supporting meaningful causes.
