It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carmelita Marie Gartelman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Carmelita was born on January 22, 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland, and peacefully departed this world on June 17, 2025.
Carmelita was known for her lively spirit and enthusiasm for life. In her earlier years, she was known to enjoy a good time, spending nights drinking and partying with friends. Her vivacious personality and love for the joyous moments truly defined her being. As time passed, Carmelita discovered the joys in the quieter moments of life, finding happiness in hanging out at home, watching movies with her cherished great-grandson, Grayson Carr.
For 25 remarkable years, Carmelita worked as a bartender, perfecting her craft and making countless memories and friendships along the way. Her infectious laughter and welcoming nature endeared her to colleagues and patrons alike, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of encountering her.
Carmelita's warmth and kindness extended beyond her working years as she was a devoted mother to her daughter Tracy Gartelman and a beloved wife to her husband, William Louis Gartelman. She was a cherished grandmother to Samantha Cook and an adored sister to Salvatore Faro, Sr. Carmelita's nurturing spirit and love were best exemplified in the time she spent with her great-grandson, bringing joy and laughter into their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore Faro and Laverna Wright, and 2 brothers, Joseph Faro and Gordon Faro, who she spoke of often and loved dearly.
Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Carmelita are invited to gather for an afternoon visitation at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. It will be a time to remember, celebrate, and cherish the beautiful moments and memories created with Carmelita.
Carmelita Marie Gartelman, a wonderful woman, lovely and loved, will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. She embodied the essence of living life to its fullest and leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth.
