Cameron "Cammy" Jane Blanch, born on April 6, 1942, in Huntington, New York, passed away just shy of her 84th birthday, April 5, 2026, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Cammy was a compassionate and loving soul, whose family was her pride and joy. She is survived by David, her loving husband of 61 years and devoted children: David Blanch and his wife Amy, Daniel Blanch and his wife Mandy, and Heather Kijanka and her husband Ted. Her spirit lives on in her cherished grandchildren: Madison, Cameron, Hannah, Ella and Jake. She is also survived by her dear sister, Carole Eibs. Cammy was predeceased by her parents, Madison and Jane Felt.
Cammy wasn’t just a "loving soul"—she was the sharp-witted, fiercely dedicated heart of her family. Known for her quiet strength and a perfectly timed streak of sass, she was a keen observer of life who didn't need to be the loudest person in the room to make her presence felt.
Her hands were rarely still. Whether she was meticulously crafting a Christmas tree skirt, a baby outfit, or a signature afghan, Cammy’s creativity was a labor of love that now warms the homes of those she held dear. That same dedication defined her career in education; whether she was at the front of a math classroom or providing vital student support in Driver's Education or the Media Center, she was a steady anchor for countless young lives. In addition, she volunteered weekly at her grandchildren’s elementary school.
Cammy’s life was a blend of simple local joys and global curiosity. In her younger years, you could find her playing bridge, crabbing on the bay or tending to her garden. Later, she traded the garden shears for a passport, immersing herself in the cultures of South America, Europe, and the Middle East. Stateside she was a tireless volunteer for Chesapeake Treasures and Partners in Care, always driven by a genuine need to show up for families in a tough spot.
Above all, Cammy’s world revolved around her family. They were her greatest pride, her favorite topic, and the source of her deepest joy.
She leaves behind a legacy of handmade warmth, sharp wit, and a life lived with purpose. While heaven may have gained an angel, those of us here will simply miss the woman who knew how to tell a story with a look and a stitch.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge located at 160 Truck House Rd. Severna Park, MD 21146.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Partners in Care-Anne Arundel in her memory.
